Packers News – The Packers are going to be without several players who missed last week’s win against the Rams, but defensive tackle B.J. Raji appears set to make his return to the lineup.
Raji is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars after skipping the last two games with an ankle injury. Raji sat out practice on Friday after being able to work the rest of the week, but listening to coach Mike McCarthy makes it seem like that was a choice made in the interest of maintenance as opposed to any kind of setback with the injury.
“If nothing changes in the next 48 hours, I feel very confident in B.J. playing,” McCarthy said, via Paul Imig of FoxSportsWisconsin.com.
There’s less confidence about Jordy Nelson. Imig reports that the wide receiver will have to show he’s capable of playing during pregame warmups on Sunday, which is a slight difference from what the Packers said on Thursday. There was to be a test of Nelson’s readiness on Saturday in that scenario, although it is unclear if the decision time has been pushed back because of any change in Nelson’s condition since the last update.
Fullback John Kuhn, cornerback Sam Shields, linebacker Nick Perry and wide receiver Greg Jennings have all been ruled out. Shields, Perry and Jennings also missed last week’s game and Jennings will be out a while longer thanks to his decision to have surgery to repair an abdominal tear.
