Nelson’s return marks red-letter day for Packers

Jordy Nelson’s long-awaited, much-anticipated return is at hand. The Packers’ wide receiver worked at individual drills in full pads during Monday’s practice at Ray Nitschke Field. Nelson didn’t wear a knee brace and he didn’t have anything resembling a limp while running routes and doing drills. In honor of Nelson’s return today here are several observations…

Holy bust, Canton! Favre turns to bronze, HOF field to cement

Everything the NFL touches turns to gold, unless of course it’s coagulating into concrete. In what proved to be a league’s worst nightmare and an alchemist’s worst fear, the playing surface at Tom Benson Stadium was reduced to an unplayable lie. While the grounds crew toiled and troubled the newly painted surface brewed and bubbled until it became a pockmarked mess before kickoff.

Hall of Fame Game Cancellation

We were sorry that the Hall of Fame/NFL cancelled the Hall of Fame game on August 7 with very slight notice. We understand that the game not being played was an extreme disappointment for all attendees. It was for us, as well. Family Night sets stage for ‘Week of Favre’

Packers’ preseason offers challenges, opportunities

The Packers’ transition from the “draft” to “develop” phase begins once a player is selected. Beyond the feel-good “get to know me” stories there is rookie orientation, OTAs and minicamps.
